Run for your lives!!!!!

Over the last 6 months I’ve been trying to take as many different types of photographs as I can.  I’ve done a Boho shoot, a Grunge shoot and a 1950’s Tea Party.  These have been fun but I wanted to do something different, very different.  Enter the Zombie.
Zombies are a shoot I’ve wanted to do for a long time.  Logistics was always the problem.  I would need a model, I would need a makeup artist and I need to light it properly.  It’s really funny how things just come together.   I found my model Tia Burns on Facebook photography, model group.  She was so much fun to work with and willing to go creepy, which is a very important trait for a model to have for a zombie shoot.

Makeup was provided by Andrijana from Cupcakes&Spiders.  I’ve used her in the past and look forward to further work.  Her Zombie makeup was outstanding!  The detail was incredible.  The open, weeping and bloody flesh wounds were fantastic (I never thought I would say such a thing).
Also a big thank you to my photography partner Darryn.  His technical expertise and lighting was paramount.  I’m so glad that we have joined forces.  This will open so many future opportunities for Cabral Photography.

This shoot was very interesting.  The model, despite all her makeup and bloody wounds still looked quite nice.  I had to make her look evil.  I accomplished this by mucking around with her eyes.  I cloned some of the blood (fake blood) on her forehead and painted her eyes.  Now she looks creepy!

Tea Parties and an addition to the team.

The Cabral Photography team has grown.

I am pleased to announce that the Cabral Photography team has grown.  Our newest Photographer is Darryn Arndt.  Darryn is an amazing landscape/cityscape photographer.  His expertise with tech and gadgets will be invaluable to the team.  Welcome aboard Darryn, we look forward to your work.

1950’s Tea Party Photoshoot.  Roma Street Parklands.

I had wanted to do this type of shoot for a long time.   My initial attempt was going to be when the Jacarandas were out but that shoot fell through due to unfortunate circumstance.  I still hope that I can do something colourful in October.

We had one of our lovely models drop out a few days prior but I was able to secure the talents of Rosanna Relton for the day.  Despite her young age she was a pro to work with and I hope I get the chance to work with her again soon.  Our models for the day were Rosanna, Jaslyn Laura and Andriana.  Cupcakes and Spiders were on board to do the Makeup.  I had worked with Jaslyn and Andriana before and again they delivered the goods.  Well done ladies.

The design of the 1950’s tea party was done by Kelly from Yellow Strawberry Celebration.  The mix of   eclectic and delicate tea cups was a delight.  The colour scheme was outstanding and I would recommend you use Yellow Strawberry Celebration for your next event.

It had been raining for 4 days straight and there was a real fear that our day was going to get washed out.  Luckily for us the sun came out and shone bright.  It made for the most perfect of shooting conditions.  In fact we had to work quickly as it was heating up pretty quickly.  The girls were amazing and bought into the whole philosophy of pain being temporary, art is forever.

Here are some photo’s from the day.
