I have gotten so lucky with the people I work with. I have not had one single bad experience. The models and the makeup artists have been truly wonderful to work with. Here are a few shots from my latest shoots.

Run for your lives!!!!!
Over the last 6 months I’ve been trying to take as many
different types of photographs as I can.
I’ve done a Boho shoot, a Grunge shoot and a 1950’s Tea Party. These have been fun but I wanted to do
something different, very different.
Enter the Zombie.
This shoot was very interesting. The model, despite all her makeup and bloody
wounds still looked quite nice. I had to
make her look evil. I accomplished this
by mucking around with her eyes. I
cloned some of the blood (fake blood) on her forehead and painted her
eyes. Now she looks creepy!

Tea Parties and an addition to the team.
The Cabral Photography
team has grown.
I am pleased to announce that the Cabral Photography team
has grown. Our newest Photographer is
Darryn Arndt. Darryn is an amazing
landscape/cityscape photographer. His
expertise with tech and gadgets will be invaluable to the team. Welcome aboard Darryn, we look forward to
your work.
1950’s Tea Party
Photoshoot. Roma Street Parklands.
I had wanted to do this type of shoot for a long time. My initial attempt was going to be when the Jacarandas
were out but that shoot fell through due to unfortunate circumstance. I still hope that I can do something colourful
in October.

Pain is temporary but art is foverever
I can’t believe it has been so long since I’ve written. I have not been idle but have been very
busy. I’ve done quite a few photo-shoots
lately. All have been so different from
each other. I spent a very sunny
afternoon shooting a beautiful makeup artist at the Gold Coast. I have also spent 2 nights shooting at the
Brisbane’s Powerhouse location. Here is
a write up on each shoot.
Location: Brisbane Powerhouse
Our original idea was to do a Katy Perry inspired
photo-shoot. This was hard to do as we
were losing the light very quickly.
Instead the shoot turned out to be a moody Katy Perry inspired session. We went with darker colours to fit the
mood. Jaslyn has this great ability to
look different in each photograph. It
gives the Photographer so many options when shooting. She was even willing to indulge me in my
trick photography experiment. Great to
work with and I look forward to our next photo session.
Location: Gold Coast – Southport Spit
Andrijana from Cupcakes&Spiders is a makeup artist (MUA)
living at the Gold Coast. We had been
talking about doing a Boho shoot that she wanted to do makeup for. I wasn’t very familiar with the Gold Coast so
I decided to start doing some research into cool area’s to photograph. The place that jumped out immediately was the
Southport Spit. This location gave us so
many options. We shot in the shade of
some trees before moving over to some beach grass to finish off the shoot. Andrijana is a lovely person to collaborate
with. She knew what kind of photo’s that
she wanted and worked well with me and my direction. I would suggest using Andrijana both behind
(MUA) and in front of the camera.
Location: Brisbane Powerhouse
Despite her young age Kah was amazing to work with. Easy to laugh and not fazed by drunk idiots
who wanted to be in pictures with her.
Our photo-shoot theme was Grunge (specifically the years 1991 to 1993)
and my direction was specific and exact.
Kah managed to deliver exactly the look I was after. Her ability to laugh and turn serious was
amazing. I worked with my photography
partner to light the location so it looked different from my past photo-shoots
there. Kah is very patient and has a
wonderful sense of adventure. I think
there is more than meets the eye with this one.
